Digital Application Engineer EMEA (m/f)

Your Responsibilities:

  • Keep up with latest technologies/trends through self-education and supplier trainings
  • Exchange regularly with Arrow Digital ESC team in Denver
  • Gather all required information and develop appropriate solutions/ answers
  • Build relationship with Indiegogo campaigns and understand their requirements
  • Update involved FAEs and AM / ADR regularly about ongoing Indiegogo campaigns
  • Motivate field teams to collaborate with campaigns by introducing ESC support capabilities, business opportunities and success stories
  • Create and maintain social network with appropriate supplier employees
  • Communicate open, honest and frank with ESC Managers to constantly improve ESC cohesion, field support and internal process
  • Increase Arrow’s share in customer designs by providing technologies / solutions in the particular area of responsibility, in conjunction with Arrow’s semiconductor and services portfolio
  • Represent Arrow Electronics in Arrow Digital / Indiegogo related meetings with suppliers, 3rd party companies and customers


Your Profile:

  • Understanding for crowd funding, start-up companies, complex development projects, technical sales and / or integration of software, services, modules, components
  • Knowledge of market trends like IoT, Industry 4.0, Make or buy decisions, Wireless communication, IP networking, Cloud services, etc.
  • 5 years of experience with embedded systems and electrical components including:
    - Microcontrollers / Processors / FPGAs
    - Sensors / Actuators
    - Embedded Software / Development Services
    - Wireless Chipsets / Modules
    - Power Supplies / Battery powered applications
  • Understanding of key wireless standards and protocols and their software requirements in embedded applications
  • Capability to communicate using a wide range of communication tools (phone, email, presentations, chat, queue management system…)
  • Capability to explain tough coherences in an easy, short and clear way
  • English, fluent in speech and writing
  • Knowledge in obvious software like MS Office and Email as well development software tools
  • German fluent written and oral
  • English fluent required

IOT Solution Architect (m/f)

Your Responsibilities:

  • Competent knowledge of Arrow’s IoT portfolio and specific offerings i.e. Arrow Connect.
  • Use of relevant demand creation processes and tools to create, manage and track IoT customer projects and engagements.
  • Engagement with IoT BDMs to support the regional IoT strategy, vertical market and target account programs.
  • Focal point to gather all required information and details to develop appropriate proof of concepts and commercially viable solutions for the customer engagement.
  • Build relationship with IoT customers, 3rd party companies and suppliers to understand their requirements and product solutions.
  • Specify IoT end-to-end proposals and explain /sell these to related customers
  • Manage complete IoT projects based on resources and services provided by Arrow and suitable 3rd party companies
  • Support software implementation, modify coding and adapt solutions to meet customer use cases and business goals.
  • Update involved FAEs, AM / ADR and BDMs regularly about ongoing IoT projects
  • Communicate open, honest and frank with ESC Managers to constantly improve ESC cohesion, field support and internal process
  • Increase Arrow’s share in customer designs by providing technologies / solutions in the particular area of responsibility, in conjunction with Arrow’s semiconductor and services portfolio
  • Support link-selling initiatives, defining appropriate components and technologies and where necessary build cross-selling tools for Arrow field based personnel.
  • Represent Arrow Electronics in IoT related meetings, events and exhibitions with existing and new (non-traditional) customers.


Your Profile:

  • 10 years of experience, ideally in the area of system solutions including developing / selling / integrating software and services.
  • Experience of cloud based services like Azure / AWS / IBM Bluemix and Watson for data storage, data analytics, data visualisation and device management.
  • Experience of combined hardware and software security solutions covering embedded devices, system on modules, gateways and Cloud.
  • Experiences with embedded systems and electrical components including:
    - Microcontrollers / Processors / FPGAs

  • You speed time to revenue for our customers and Arrow. You reduce the time from definition to deployment and remove obstacles or fix errors to delight the customer. You make IoT implementations easy for customers.
  • Working with your colleagues such as; IoT Business Development, IoT Solutions Architects, Systems Engineers and IoT Technical Marketing you solve for business solutions required by OEM’s, ISV’s, SI’s and ecosystem partners.
  • Significant expertise with IDE’s (Eclipse, Keil, mbed, etc) as well as development platforms (Arduino, Dragonboard, Raspberry PI, Unity, Linaro 96 Boards,)
  • Significant experience with BSPs
  • Capable of writing a simple driver
  • Experience in security, encryption, or developing mobile apps or application layer solutions is a plus
  • Knowledge of the effects of using open source code and how that may affect a customer
  • Deep understanding of protocol stacks and implementation (both wired and wireless)
  • Provide guidance on SIL level implementations
  • Adept at building Proof-of-concept systems with functional cloud connectivity
  • Able to create professional, visually impressive presentations with content appropriate for an intended audience
  • Adept at presenting slides to executive management or conveying concepts to hardware engineers


Your Profile:

  • BS in Computer Science/Engineering, EE or related technical field

Main Purpose of the role

Centralize HR Programs Support

Key Responsibilities
All tasks to be carried out in a Total Quality manner, consistent with the Company culture.

  • To support HR programs delivery (EPR, Goaling, Merit Review, Talent review) in all areas to reinforce HR effectiveness and consistency of approach
  • Under the supervision of COEs, to prepare and send all communication materials for all HR Programs
  • To facilitate HR Programs trainings for the HR community and Managers
  • To participate in various HR project work as required, particularly relating to the development of solutions to minimize transactional tasks for HRBP, evolution of HR, practices and training to support changing requirements in EMEA region.
  • Based on COEs policies and guidelines, to propose any enhancements to operationalize required activities to support to the HR Community.
  • To interface with Corporate and COEs to ensure HR Program delivery

Role

As the successful candidate you will join the Arrow HR Team at a period of exciting change where you will have the opportunity to assist in the transformation of the current HR back office model, creating a business agnostic HR Service Centre for all administrative functions with a view to integrate further service lines into a best in class customer focused function.

The HR Service Centre Team Manager will manage, lead and develop the HR first line support service, ensuring the team is providing professional and effective advice, guidance and support service to internal and external customers in relation to administrative procedures. You will also be resolving more complex queries as escalated by the team in relation to HR policies, procedures and statutory requirements to support the HR Business Partnering team. Responsible for a team of 3 HR Service Centre Administrators across 3 geographical sites you will also be required to assist with the daily workload activities when appropriate.

In addition you will ensure that accurate and timely HR metrics are produced and developed as required by the business, including HR Service Desk related metrics (including feedback and customer usage, and weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual management information reports).

Furthermore you will help identify areas of continuous improvement or added value in relation to all HR transactional, processes and procedures, designing and delivering the required changes and escalating these as appropriate. You will also ensure the team are effectively trained and developed and that there are appropriate work structures in place to support this, including standard operating procedures.

Although based in Harrogate, the role will require regular travel to our offices Harlow and Braintree until such time as the team is geographically centralised.

Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will be CIPD qualified, and have previous experience of leading a HR transactional / administration / shared services team.

With excellent interpersonal skills with a customer centric approach and ability to build effective working relationships, you will be resourceful with the ability to solve problems independently and able to identify improvements and design and deliver change as appropriate.

Additionally you will have up to date knowledge and understanding of employment law and its practical and appropriate application. You will also have the ability to organise and prioritise both your own time and the team‘s time effectively, forward plan and ensure that a variety of tasks with competing deadlines are dealt with appropriately.

You may have experience of the following: HR Service Desk Team Manager, Human Resources, Team Leader, Shared Services, Customer Service, Employment Law, HR Manager etc.

Hours of Work
The company’s standard hours of work are 9.00am – 5.30 pm with one hour for lunch, however due to the nature of this role flexibility will be required in order to meet the needs of the role.

KEY ACTIVITIES

Duties will include, but are not restricted to the following:

  • Regular partner meetings

The ideal candidate will be a bright and enthusiastic individual who is dedicated to achieving high standards and has an ambition to over achieve and progress.
